QUEEN
ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second
largest national park in Uganda at 1,978
sq. km. It lies north and south of the
equator to the south west of Uganda.
Animals
to be seen here include: Hippopotami,
Elephants, lions, hyena, waterbucks, bushbucks,
buffalos, warthogs, kobs, pelicans, king
fishers and eagles. This park provides
an unforgettably unique experience.

KIDEPO
VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
This park boast of the best scenery of
all the East African parks. The park consists
of sensational mountain and savannah landscapes.
It is quiet and serene. It is located
in the north eastern Ugandan corner bordering
with Kenya and Sudan. Animals to be seen
here include: leopard, kudu, zebra, buffalo,
cheetah, elephant, giraffe, oryx, bush
baby, lions, kobs, etc. With its sensational
landscape, this park is not to be missed. |
MURCHISON
FALLS NATIONAL PARK
It is the largest (at about 3,840 sq.
km.) of all parks in Uganda and has the
highest concentration of animals along
the river Nile. This park offers some
of the greatest sceneries with its highly
striking falls and meandering tributaries.
Animals to be seen here include: crocodiles,
chimpanzee, pangolin, civet, buffalo,
hyena, elephant, giraffe, hippopotamus,
leopard, warthog, lion, giraffe aardvark.

fishing (nile perch, tiger fish, tilapia),
birding (over 400 bird species including
the shoebill stork, Pel's fishing owl,
pennant winged nightjar, red-throated
bee eater) and forest trekking (there
is a forest in the park which is home

This
forest has one of the richest ecosystems in
the whole of Africa. It contains over 340
birds species, 14 species of snakes, 27 species
of frogs and toads, at least 20 species of
other reptiles and at least 200 species of
butterflies. Other
animals to be seen here include: chimpanzee,
elephant, bush pig, giant forest hog, bats
and rodents, etc.
BWINDI
FOREST
Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest is a sanctuary for almost
half the world's population of mountain gorillas
(about 330 of 600), which is the rarest race
of these primates.

RWENZORI
MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
It boasts of some of the highest peaks
in the world, the Rwenzori Mountains
popularly refered to as the "Mountains
of the Moon." These are permanently
snow capped peaks that offer great trekking
experiences for mountain climbers.
The
Rwenzori Mountains lie along the western
border of Uganda and rise to a height
of 5,1OO metres. They provide a spectacular
backdrop to the national park.
Animals
to be seen here include: golden cat,
forest hog, rock hyrax, Sitatunga, elephant,
genet, chimpanzee, Colobus monkey, Duiker,
Vervet, etc.
MOUNTAIN
RWENZORI
Mountaineering
is a popular attraction to the visitor
who love the snow capped peaks of mount
Rwenzori popularly known as the "mountains
of the moon" and mount Elgon. These
mountaineering destinations offer the
best of Africa.

Jinja
